Artist's Comments
Did this back in 05 before War of the Worlds came out. One of literally hundreds of tripod pictures that I drew in anticipation of the movie. I tried staying as close to the description given in the book as I could. Not to happy with the legs, but I'll give this another go soon.

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Uncoolness to the max
The aliens in Speilberg's version also differed dramatically from Wells' Martians. The Martians were essentially giant brains with faces and tentacles, where as Speilberg's aliens were tripedal and indeed the inspiration for my triped predators in Project Athena.
