Concept for Kaiju 'Ray'

Description

In the wake of Cloverfield ( AWSOME MOVIE!!!) I figured that people would be submitting a lot of original Kaiju monsters, so I went ahead and drew my own. It took forever to get the design the way I wanted it to look and I hope you like it.
Specs follow:

Name: “Ray”
Height: 165 Feet ( Standing)
Length: 340 Feet
Weight: 590 Tons
Species: Previously Undiscovered Giant Amphibious Organism ( Aquasaurus Leviathan)
Sex: Male
Abilities: Flammable Bile
Description:
By all evolutionary standards, this animal is a bit of an oddball. Despite its monstrous size, Aquasaurus Leviathan is a rather efficient predator as evidenced by several sperm and humpback whale carcasses found washed up on the shores of north America. It is believed that “Ray”( named after a fictional robotic weapon of a similar body structure) like modern crocodiles can survive on few meals for extended periods of time. However, due to this animal’s recent attack on San Francisco and subsequent predation of human beings it has been proposed that this species will come to land from time to time if food sources are scarce.

Appearance:
“Ray” is very saurian in appearance. Its body is reminiscent of predatory dinosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus Rex, but with some very discernable differences. The presence of two enormous flippers on its sides and two smaller flippers on its chest indicate that this animal descended from an ancestor with six limbs. On land “Ray” held its large flippers backwards against it’s body, giving the impression that it had wings. To date, nothing in the fossil record shows anything that even comes close to a creature such as this. “Ray” possesses a long tail that tapers into a paddle at the end. This tail is very muscular at the base and can propel the animal at high speeds through the water. “Ray’s” rear legs end in two webbed four-digit appendages that are used as feet on land and hands underwater. But perhaps the most odd thing about “Ray” is its head. “Ray’s” head is protected by thick boney ‘helmet’ two feet thick. Why this is so is still baffling to scientists.
It was clocked running at an astounding 54 miles an hour which for a creature this size is almost unimaginable. Ground based military forces also found that “Ray’s” skin was incredibly resilient to gun fire and was strong enough to stave off volley after volley of missiles fired at it by Air Force and Marine airborne forces.
Aside from simply devouring its foes, “Ray” defended itself by vomiting a putrid bile composed of enzymes that actually burst into flame upon contact with the air. This ’napalm’ was analyzed by scientists and was found to be highly corrosive when in contact with salt-water. It is unknown whether or not this mechanism is used defensively or if it helps in catching prey underwater.

Death:
“Ray” rampaged through San Francisco for 18 hours before it was finally killed by the United States Navy.
Realizing that “Ray” was seemingly impervious to conventional weaponry, quick thinking Naval personnel created specialized weapons in order to pierce it’s hide.
The weapons in question were 6 modified Tomahawk Cruise Missiles. The explosive warheads of these missiles were removed and replaced with 31foot long steel rebar harpoons fitted to the nose cones. These weapons proved remarkably effective against “Ray” who had shrugged off most of the military’s efforts.

Further Study:
“Ray’s” corpse was immediately seized by the United States government and studied extensively for three years. Dissection of “Ray” revealed that the animal was in fact a male and he had eaten 120 people who were still dissolving in his gut. “Ray” had not two but three massive lungs that allow members of his species to stay under water for weeks on end without needing to come up for air, which may explain why sightings of this creature had never been made until now. The lungs it seems are capable of acting individually.

Final Analysis:
“Ray” may have been one of the few survivors of his species. Considering his size and appetite, it may be safe to assume that very few, if any Aquasaurus Leviathan live today

Ive been looking at your kaiju artwok and im seeing the creatures have very aquatic features, so that should make them born in the sea/lake ETC. like frogs, or have evolved from aquatic creatures and havnt lost some of the looks, like fins.
